Kunar Public Health Department receives $34,000 worth of medical equipment

The Ministry of Public Health has announced that eight types of medical equipment worth a total of $34,000 have been handed over to the Public Health Department in Kunar province.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said the equipment was provided with the cooperation of Afghan traders residing in Uzbekistan and the Afghan embassy in that country.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, the items were purchased by representatives of Afghan traders in Uzbekistan and then transferred to Afghanistan.

Kunar is located in eastern Afghanistan, and public health departments in the provinces are responsible for organising and advancing government health services at the local level.
