Farah police seize 800 kg of chemical materials linked to drugs

Farah police say they have discovered 800 kilograms of chemical materials linked to narcotics.

The press office of Farah police command said anti-narcotics forces found the chemicals, which are used in the production of drugs, in the Shaki area of Bakwah district.

According to the office, the seized materials were destroyed in the presence of relevant officials. The Farah police press office said the move was carried out under the order of the Taliban leader banning the cultivation, purchase and sale of narcotics.

The office added that five people have been arrested in connection with the incident. Police said the individuals were referred to judicial and legal authorities after preliminary investigations.

Bakwah district is one of the areas of Farah province in western Afghanistan, a province that, because of its border location and transit routes, has also been mentioned in some drug-related incidents.
