Memorial gatherings, absentee funeral prayers, Quran recitations and tributes for Haseeb Panjshiri, a commander of the National Resistance Front, have been held by Afghan citizens in several cities around the world. Organisers of these events have stressed the importance of keeping alive the memory of those killed in the resistance front and continuing their path.

The events were held in Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Vienna, Toronto, Sydney, Melbourne and Dushanbe. At the same time, calls have also been issued in some other cities for similar programmes to be held for the martyred commander of the resistance front.

In Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, a Quran recitation and memorial ceremony for Haseeb Panjshiri was held with the حضور of officials and professors from the Afghan embassy in the country, known as “Little Afghanistan.” Mohammad Zahir Aghbar, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Tajikistan, stressed the continuation of the struggle and steadfastness at the ceremony.

He said: “The pure blood of these martyrs will never be wasted, and their aspiration for freedom will not remain unanswered.” Aghbar also stressed struggle, steadfastness and the pursuit of rights.

The National Resistance Front is one of the groups opposing the Taliban administration, and most of its activities in recent years have focused on armed and political opposition to the Taliban administration.
