Police seize 48 kilograms of opium in Maidan Wardak

The police command in Maidan Wardak province says anti-narcotics forces have seized 48 kilograms of opium in the Saydabad district and arrested one person in connection with the case.
According to the agency, the drugs had been loaded in Balkh province and were being transported to Farah province.
The Maidan Wardak police command added that the man was identified and arrested in the Saydabad area after efforts and searches by anti-narcotics forces.
Maidan Wardak province lies along major highways in the country, and Saydabad district is considered one of the province’s transit areas.
