Rail Transit of Iraqi Oil Products to Afghanistan and Turkey Begins via Iran

Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency says the rail transit of Iraqi oil products to markets in Afghanistan and Turkey has begun via Iran’s Kermanshah province.

According to the report, the first shipment, consisting of 50,000 tonnes of Iraqi oil products, has been transported to Afghanistan and Turkey, and the transit route was officially inaugurated at a ceremony attended by officials from Kermanshah province.

IRNA did not release further details on the type of oil products, the schedule for future shipments, or the share of each target market.

Kermanshah province is located in western Iran near the Iraqi border and is considered one of the key transit routes for transporting goods between Iran, Iraq and regional countries.
