Taliban urges families to bring children back from neighbouring countries

Abdul Ahad Faizli, acting minister of communications and information technology in the Taliban administration, has called on families to bring back their children who are in neighbouring countries and return them to Afghanistan.

He made the remarks on Saturday, Aug. 24, at a ceremony in Helmand province, claiming that neighbouring countries do not tolerate Afghanistan’s progress and are trying to disrupt order in the country.

According to Faizli, families should bring back children who were taken out of Afghanistan so that, in his words, foreign countries cannot exploit them for “misleading purposes.”

In his remarks, the Taliban acting minister of communications and information technology did not name any country and provided no further details about his claim. Helmand province is located in southern Afghanistan and is considered one of the country’s important provinces.
