Doctor Killed by Air Gun in Paktia Provincial Hospital

A doctor at Paktia Provincial Hospital was fatally shot with an air gun on Sunday afternoon in Gardez, the capital of the province.

Monib Zardan, spokesperson for the Paktia police command, stated that the incident took place in the Balmandzalo area of Gardez city. According to him, Dr. Abdul Hanan was completing his internship at Paktia Provincial Hospital.

Police officials said the motive behind the attack remains unknown and the assailant has not yet been identified. Authorities have announced that investigations have begun to apprehend the perpetrator.

Paktia province, located in the southeast of the country, has experienced similar security incidents in recent years.
