6.3-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southern Philippines

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that a 6.3-magnitude earthquake shook the southern coasts of the Philippines on Wednesday. According to the agency, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 32 kilometers southwest of Sarangani Island, near Mindanao Island. The USGS also stated that no tsunami warning had been issued following the event. The Philippines, situated along the Pacific Ring of Fire, is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world and experiences multiple earthquakes every year.
