Taliban Border Police Seize Nearly $250,000 in Illegal Cash at Islam Qala Border

The Press Office of the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior announced that border police forces at the Islam Qala border crossing prevented the illegal transfer of nearly 250,000 US dollars. According to the ministry, the amount was discovered and confiscated when an individual attempted to illegally transfer the money through this border to Iran. The arrested individual, along with the seized cash, has been handed over to judicial authorities for legal proceedings. Border police officials emphasized that efforts to prevent smuggling, financial violations, and other illegal activities at the country’s border crossings continue, and similar cases will be prosecuted. Islam Qala border in Herat province is one of the most important trade gateways between Afghanistan and Iran, witnessing significant daily movement of goods and travelers.
