242 Kilograms of Opium Seized in Paktika and Ghazni; Six Arrested

The Taliban security command in Paktika has announced the arrest of six individuals accused of trafficking 25 kilograms of opium. According to the authority, the arrested individuals have confessed to committing this crime.
Meanwhile, the Taliban security command in Ghazni reported the discovery of 217 kilograms of opium hidden in a container truck traveling from Badakhshan to Helmand. This quantity of narcotics was confiscated before reaching its destination.
However, security officials in Ghazni stated that no individuals have been arrested in connection with this shipment.
Despite the Taliban administration’s declared ban on the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics, scattered reports of opium shipments being discovered and transported continue. This indicates that trafficking networks remain active along certain routes within the country.
