Iran’s President Calls for International Action on US-Inflicted Transport Infrastructure Damage
Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, announced that the damages inflicted on the country’s transport infrastructure following US attacks must be pursued through competent international organizations and authorities. He described these attacks on civilian facilities as violations of international law and as war crimes.
On Sunday, Pezeshkian met with the Minister, deputies, and senior officials of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development to review the latest status of border terminals, ports, and road and rail networks. During the meeting, a report was presented detailing the damages to bridges, transport routes, rail networks, and other logistical infrastructures.
After receiving the report, the Iranian President ordered an acceleration in reconstruction efforts, activation of alternative routes, and enhancement of the resilience of the transport network. He also stressed the continuation of service provision and the prevention of disruptions in the supply chain of essential goods.
According to Pezeshkian, developing regional cooperation and connecting rail networks with neighboring countries are among the government’s priorities. He emphasized that the reconstruction of damaged infrastructures must be conducted according to international standards and leverage modern technologies in logistics and smart management.
