Taliban Administration Announces Expansion of Health Cooperation with Uzbekistan
The Taliban administration has announced that during a meeting between its health officials and representatives from Uzbekistan’s health sector, discussions were held on expanding cooperation in the areas of medicine, healthcare products, and treatment for Afghan patients. If implemented, these collaborations could positively impact the treatment process for patients in need.
According to information released by the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health, Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, Deputy Minister for Food and Medicine, during his visit to Tashkent, discussed professional experience exchange and creating conditions for the treatment of Afghan patients, especially those suffering from cancer and heart diseases, with Uzbek health officials.
The ministry stated that the meeting also covered training and capacity building for technical staff, development of the pharmaceutical industry, strengthening quality control systems, enhancing laboratories, and equipping laboratory centers.
Uzbek authorities expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in the health and medicine sectors with Afghanistan. However, no details have been provided regarding the timeline or the specifics of how these collaborations will be implemented.
