Yemen Reports Missile Attacks on Aramco Facilities, Warns of Escalation with Saudi Arabia

A spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces announced that Yemeni forces have carried out two missile and drone operations targeting Saudi Arabia’s Aramco facilities and warned that they will expand their actions if tensions continue.

Yahya Saree stated that in the first operation, Aramco facilities in the Jizan region were targeted with dozens of ballistic missiles and drones. In the second operation, several Aramco-associated targets in Yanbu were attacked with multiple missiles and drones. He described these strikes as “successful” and said they inflicted direct damage.

The Yemeni armed forces spokesperson also accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out airstrikes on the city and port of Hodeidah as well as Kamaran Island, causing both material and moral damages. He added that Yemen’s air defense systems engaged the attacking aircraft.

Yahya Saree referred to what he called the “12-year siege,” emphasizing that the naval blockade against Saudi Arabia would continue in response to counteractions. He stressed that Yemeni forces would not refrain from expanding operations in the coming hours and days under the principles of “blockade against blockade” and “escalation in response to escalation.”

Conflict between Yemen and the Saudi-led coalition has intensified since 2015, with reciprocal missile and drone attacks, especially targeting oil facilities and border regions, frequently reported over the years.
