Afghanistan-Uzbekistan Joint Trade Forum Held in Syrdarya Province

A joint trade forum between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan was held in Syrdarya province, featuring the participation of a 100-member delegation of Afghan businessmen and hundreds of Uzbek traders and investors.

The delegation, led by Syed Karim Hashemi, President of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, traveled to Uzbekistan. According to the organizers, the meeting focused on expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

Erkin Jan Turdimov, Governor of Syrdarya, emphasized the development of joint investments and utilizing the strategic position of both countries to create new transit corridors. He also spoke about facilitating more support for traders from Kabul and Tashkent.

Meanwhile, the President of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment urged Uzbek traders and investors to invest in joint economic projects in Afghanistan. He also stressed the importance of holding joint exhibitions and establishing a joint private sector committee between the two countries.

Uzbekistan is one of Afghanistan’s key trade partners in Central Asia, and both countries have made efforts in recent years to increase trade exchanges and transit cooperation.
