Pakistan and Oman Stress the Importance of Maintaining Tehran-Washington Ceasefire

Pakistan and Oman emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington and efforts to preserve regional stability during a meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila.

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, met with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, to discuss regional and international developments. Both sides expressed concern about the recent situation in the region and stressed adherence to international law and the pursuit of political solutions to achieve lasting peace.

According to Islamabad, the two countries agreed to enhance bilateral relations through exchanges of high-level delegations, expanding trade and investment, strengthening private sector ties, and increasing people-to-people contacts. They also highlighted the continuation of coordination in multilateral forums.

During the meeting, Oman’s Foreign Minister praised Pakistan’s constructive role in advancing dialogue and reducing regional tensions. The ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) is considered one of Asia’s key security dialogue platforms, with this year’s meeting held in the Philippine capital.
