Iran and Pakistan Agree to Strengthen Security Cooperation

Iran’s Interior Minister and Pakistan’s Army Chief met officially in Rawalpindi to emphasize enhanced security coordination and cooperation for regional stability.

On Tuesday, July 21, Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s Interior Minister, held talks with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army during his visit to Islamabad.

According to a statement from the Pakistan Army’s public relations, both sides discussed shared interests, regional and bilateral security, and effective border management.

During the meeting, Iran’s Interior Minister appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic role in reducing regional tensions and efforts toward de-escalation. The Pakistan Army’s statement added that the meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthen cooperation mechanisms and close coordination aimed at regional security and mutual prosperity.
