Pentagon Considers Military Options Against Cuba Including Airstrikes

CBS News, citing U.S. officials, has reported that the Department of Defense is exploring various options for a potential military action against Cuba. These options include airstrikes involving thousands of American troops.
According to the report, U.S. military planners have a range of scenarios on the table. One of the discussed plans involves airstrikes carried out by the 101st Airborne Division, a unit specially trained for such missions, according to the sources.
Several U.S. officials familiar with these discussions emphasized that considering these options does not amount to a final decision to launch an operation. Neither President Donald Trump nor the Pentagon has issued an order to proceed with any attack.
The report further notes that any military action against Cuba would face significant challenges, as a large portion of the United States’ military resources and capabilities remain engaged in operations related to Iran.
