Cause of Senator Lindsey Graham’s Death Revealed as Aortic Dissection

Washington’s medical examiner’s office has released its preliminary report stating that Lindsey Graham, the 71-year-old Republican senator from South Carolina, died from an aortic rupture caused by atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
According to the findings published, the cause of death was identified as ‘aortic dissection,’ a serious condition that occurs due to a tear in the inner layer of the body’s main artery and is usually associated with pre-existing cardiovascular diseases.
This report was also issued by Senator Graham’s office, which has not provided further details about his health condition in the days leading up to his death.
Previously, his office had only announced his passing following a sudden illness and did not disclose the exact cause of death. Graham was known as a prominent figure in the Republican Party in the U.S. Senate.
