Second Badakhshan Lapis Lazuli Exhibition Opens to Boost Local Industry and Markets

The Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the opening of the second ‘Badakhshan Lapis Lazuli’ exhibition, aimed at supporting domestic production, promoting the use of Afghan-made products, and expanding the sales market in Badakhshan province. The exhibition is held for three days and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for visitors.
According to the ministry, the event is organized by the companies ‘Azar Azizi’ and ‘Wahaj Exhibition Services’ in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Officials have stated that the exhibition’s purpose is to facilitate marketing opportunities and create direct connections between producers and buyers.
At the opening ceremony, Mawlawi Jamaluddin Haqiqju, Deputy Governor of Badakhshan, Mawlawi Saifurrahman Rahimi, Head of Industry and Trade in the province, along with several local officials, industrialists, and merchants were present. The Deputy Governor emphasized the growth of industry and Afghanistan’s goal of achieving self-sufficiency in domestic production in his speech.
According to the published information, the exhibition showcases a variety of domestic products in sectors such as handicrafts, carpets, dairy products, detergents, dried fruits, and services. Badakhshan, a northeastern province of Afghanistan, is known not only for its mineral resources but also for its crafts and local production capabilities.
