Iran Summons UK Ambassador Over Repeated Baseless Accusations

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the British ambassador in Tehran was summoned following what it described as “repeated baseless accusations” by UK officials. The summons was carried out by Alireza Yousefi, the assistant minister and director general for Western Europe at the ministry, who also delivered an official protest note.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, objections were raised against the allegations concerning Iran’s supposed involvement in anti-security activities in the UK. The Iranian official denied these accusations, labeling them as incorrect.
The issued statement said that Tehran criticized the British government’s approach toward Iran and called for a reconsideration of these policies. It also emphasized the necessity for all countries to adhere to their international commitments.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry further urged London to focus on improving relations and respecting international law principles instead of making such claims. As of the time of this report, UK officials have not issued any new response on the matter.
