Four Arrested with Narcotics in Nangarhar and Kabul, Taliban Authorities Say

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced that its Anti-Narcotics Directorate forces arrested three individuals in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province with 15 kilograms of narcotics. Additionally, another individual was detained in the 11th district of Kabul city with 2,400 narcotic pills.

In a statement released by the ministry, it was noted that the arrested persons will be referred to judicial and legal authorities after initial investigations to proceed with the legal process of their cases.

Nangarhar province, located in eastern Afghanistan, has reported numerous cases related to drug trafficking and distribution in past years. Despite the Taliban administration’s declared commitment to combating drug cultivation and trafficking, citizens consistently demand greater transparency in how these cases are handled and call for preventing the resurgence of such networks.

No further details have been released so far regarding the exact types of drugs seized or the identities of the detainees.
