Three Thousand Media Personnel to Cover Funeral of Iran’s Martyred Leader in Iraq

The Head of Iraq’s Security Information Unit announced that all security, service, and media preparations have been completed for the funeral ceremony of Iran’s martyred leader in the cities of Najaf Ashraf and Karbala Al-Moalla. According to him, the ceremony will begin with the presence of an official and high-ranking Iranian delegation at Najaf Ashraf Airport.

Saad Ma’an, speaking at a joint press conference with Youssef Kanawi, the governor of Najaf Ashraf, said consecutive meetings were held with the participation of all security sectors and the Iraqi army’s aviation unit to oversee the implementation of the prepared plans. He emphasized that a supreme committee, along with several subcommittees, is responsible for following up on the logistics and coordination of the ceremony.

According to Iraqi officials, the funeral procession route in Najaf Ashraf has been set from the Sadrin Bridges to the Alawi Shrine, spanning six kilometers. The procession route in Karbala Al-Moalla will cover 5.8 kilometers. A total of 751 service tents have been prepared in Najaf and Karbala to provide services to participants, with the possibility of increasing this number.

The Head of Iraq’s Security Information Unit added that more than 600 Arab and foreign journalists, and over three thousand Iraqi, Arab, and international media activists in total, will cover the event. For live broadcasting, 23 live transmission centers and about 2,500 cameras have been arranged.

He also announced the allocation of 150 ambulances for the execution of a special health and emergency services plan in the governorates of Najaf Ashraf and Karbala. He said a specific traffic management plan has been prepared in these governorates and surrounding areas to ensure the orderly movement of participants.
