Iran Emphasizes Lifting Yemen Blockade in Meeting with Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister

Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, stated in a meeting with Major General Jalal al-Ruwaishan, Yemen’s Deputy Prime Minister, that Tehran is ready to utilize all its diplomatic capacities to lift the blockade on Yemen and fully implement the country’s peace roadmap.

The meeting took place on Saturday, July 4, in Tehran. Al-Ruwaishan had traveled to Iran to participate in a ceremony honoring the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution.

During the meeting, the Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister extended condolences to Iran’s Supreme Leader, government, and people on the martyrdom of the Islamic Revolution’s leader, and expressed appreciation for what he called “Iran’s steadfastness against American and Israeli aggressors.” He also spoke of Iran’s diplomatic successes.

In response, Iran’s Foreign Minister thanked the Yemeni government and people for condemning the military attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, and for their solidarity with the Iranian nation.

The blockade of Yemen, which has intensified in recent years due to internal conflicts and foreign interventions, is considered one of the main factors behind the humanitarian crisis in the country. Regional and international diplomatic efforts to reach a political solution continue.
