Afghan Pilgrims Allowed Entry 24 Hours Before Martyr Leader’s Funeral via Dogharoon Border

The governor of Taybad announced that the entry of Afghan nationals for participation in the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader of the revolution will begin 24 hours before the event through the official Dogharoon border crossing. He stated that so far, visas have been issued to 2,500 people, but no groups have yet entered Iranian territory.
Hossein Jamshidi, saying that the necessary coordination has been completed in the border management working group, added that all responsible agencies including customs, border terminal, border guards, and other offices located in Dogharoon are on alert to facilitate the pilgrims’ entrance. He emphasized that the goal is to ensure that the process of receiving and transporting Afghan guests proceeds with order and ease.
According to the Taybad governor, visa issuance through the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consulates in Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Kabul is ongoing on a daily basis. As per the established plan, the pilgrims’ passports will be collected at the Dogharoon border and their transportation to Mashhad will be carried out by a designated travel company.
He added that upon entry, pilgrims will visit the shrine of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (AS), participate in the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader, and then be transported back to the Dogharoon border by the same travel company to retrieve their passports and exit the country.
Jamshidi also announced that necessary arrangements have been made for reception and possible accommodation in the border area. The travel route from Taybad to Mashhad has been determined, and lodging locations for pilgrims have been pre-selected. He said that with cooperation from local residents and donors, service tents will be set up along the route to welcome and assist the pilgrims.
Highlighting the importance of the Dogharoon border as one of the main crossings between Iran and Afghanistan, the Taybad governor said all executive and service departments along the path are on alert to ensure a smooth travel process. He also confirmed that security measures along the border strip have been secured, and final coordination for implementing the program according to the scheduled timetable will be completed soon.
