Chickpea Cultivation Begins on 450 Jeribs of Land in Balkh to Supply Local Urea Factory

Officials of the urea factory in Balkh province have announced the commencement of chickpea cultivation on 450 jeribs of land for the first time, aiming to supply part of the raw materials needed by the factory domestically.
According to these officials, this initiative was undertaken to reduce reliance on the import of raw materials and to strengthen the local production cycle. They stated that with the implementation of this plan, a portion of the urea production requirements will be met through domestic agricultural products.
The factory officials emphasized that expanding chickpea cultivation will not only increase the production capacity of urea but also create more job opportunities for residents of the surrounding areas. They believe that the development of such agricultural programs can play a significant role in supporting domestic products and boosting the local economy.
