FBI Claims to Foil Attack on Event Attended by Trump at White House Grounds

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that it has foiled a planned attack on a mixed martial arts event held on the grounds of the White House and has arrested five individuals connected to the plot. According to the agency, the event was attended by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, along with several members of Congress.

The FBI reported that the assailants intended to use drones carrying explosives to target the north side of the White House. The aim was to create chaos among attendees, paving the way for snipers to attack prominent political figures and notable individuals present at the event.

The FBI claimed that those arrested were angry over the handling of the case of Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. According to the agency, one of the suspects admitted that their goal was to attack representatives who had received campaign contributions from pro-Israel groups.

This comes amid previous statements by some U.S. officials about attempts by individuals or groups to assassinate Trump, claims that have at times been met with skepticism and media debate. Further details about the identities of those arrested and the judicial process related to this case have not yet been released.
