Bahrain Sentences 12 to 10 Years in Prison for Supporting Iranian Attacks

Bahrain’s High Criminal Court on Monday sentenced 12 individuals to 10 years in prison each, accusing them of endorsing and encouraging Iranian attacks on the country, spreading false news, and distributing prohibited information and images. According to the court ruling, these individuals were also required to pay fines and have their seized items confiscated.

The court stated that the defendants, during the attacks attributed to Iran, received and disseminated vital and confidential information while supporting and praising the assaults. Bahraini judicial authorities described these actions as a threat to the nation’s security.

The indictment specifies that some of the accused filmed in restricted areas and shared images and content on social media platforms. Additionally, they were charged with spreading rumors and false news online.

Alongside the 10-year prison sentences for each of the 12 individuals, the court imposed fines amounting to $2,656. No further details about the identities of the convicts or the judicial process have been released.
