Turkey and Saudi Arabia Officially Ratify Mutual Visa Waiver Agreement

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has ratified the mutual visa waiver agreement with Saudi Arabia, formalizing the document into law. According to the decision published in Turkey’s official gazette, holders of diplomatic and special passports from both countries will be exempt from visa requirements for short-term travel.

Under the terms of the agreement, these individuals can stay in the other country’s territory for up to 90 days within any 180-day period without obtaining a visa. This exemption applies to entry, transit, exit, and temporary residence.

The agreement was signed on May 6 of this year, concluding the Turkey-Saudi Coordination Council meeting held in Ankara. The meeting was chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.

Anatolia News Agency reported that this move aims to expand bilateral cooperation and facilitate the movement of officials and holders of special passports between the two countries.
