Guterres Warns West Asia Ceasefire ‘Like a Mild Fire,’ Urges Diplomatic Efforts

Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, stated that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States in West Asia remains fragile and is “more like a mild fire.” He emphasized that the dangers arising from this situation should not be underestimated.

In a message posted on his official X social media account, Guterres noted that attacks have intensified in recent days and the situation in the region has worsened; a condition that, according to him, indicates that the existing ceasefire has not established lasting stability.

Without directly condemning any specific party, the UN Secretary-General called on all sides to strive for a diplomatic agreement. He added that continued tensions could have serious consequences for regional stability.

These remarks come as tensions between Iran and the United States in West Asia have escalated in recent weeks, with ongoing concerns about the potential expansion of conflicts.
