9 Kilograms of Opium Seized in Kang District of Nimroz Province

Officials at the Nimroz Police Command report that 9 kilograms of opium were discovered and confiscated in the Kang district of Nimroz province. According to them, this amount of narcotics was seized during an operation conducted by the Narcotics Control Directorate.

Based on a statement from the Public Relations Department of the Nimroz Police Command, no individuals have been arrested in connection with this case so far. Further details regarding the transportation or ownership of the drugs have not been disclosed.

Due to its border location, Nimroz province has long been a key transit route for drug trafficking. Despite repeated announcements by the Taliban administration about combating drug cultivation and trafficking, the lack of transparent information about involved networks and absence of arrests of suspects has raised questions about the effectiveness of these efforts.
