Truck X-Ray Machine to Be Installed at Milak Border Crossing by Summer 2026

Farhad Shahraki, the representative of the people of Zabol, Zahak, Hamun, Hirmand, and Nimruz in Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, announced that the installation, commissioning, and full deployment of a truck X-ray machine at the Milak border terminal will be completed by the end of summer 2026. According to him, this move will play a significant role in improving supervision and facilitating border trade with Afghanistan.
On May 18, during a visit to this border terminal in the Sistan region, Shahraki stated that the development status of customs infrastructure and the progress of projects related to border trade had been reviewed. He added that based on the provided timeline, this device would be ready for operation by the end of next summer at the latest.
According to this member of parliament, once the truck X-ray machine becomes operational, the control and monitoring process of commercial goods transport at the border will be conducted with greater accuracy and speed, helping to reduce the waiting times of cargo trucks at this crossing.
Shahraki also emphasized that the Sistan and Baluchestan Provincial Audit Court, as a supervisory body affiliated with the parliament, will continuously follow up and evaluate the implementation of resolutions and commitments related to these projects.
The Milak border terminal is considered one of the key crossings between Iran and Afghanistan, with a significant portion of trade between the two countries conducted through this route.
