Ukraine Launches Large-Scale Drone Attack on Moscow; Four Dead

Russian officials have reported that at least four people have been killed and twelve injured following a large-scale drone attack by Ukraine targeting Moscow and other regions of Russia. According to the Mayor of Moscow, this attack represents the largest drone assault on the Russian capital in over a year.
Reports state that three individuals died in the Moscow region while one person was killed in the Belgorod area. Andrei Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow region, said a woman died after a drone hit a house in the Khimki area north of the capital. He added that emergency responders are still searching through debris for any potential additional victims.
It was also reported that two others died in the village of Pogorki in the Mytishchi district. Local authorities noted that three residential buildings sustained damage as a result of the attacks.
Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, stated that air defense systems shot down 81 drones moving toward the capital from midnight until this morning. He emphasized that the scale of this attack is unprecedented in more than a year.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced that a total of 556 drones were shot down across the country from last night until this morning. Russian media outlets reported that Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport was among the targets of the attacks.
