Five Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Balochistan Clashes

Five Pakistani military personnel, including a major, were killed during operations conducted by the Pakistan Army and border forces in Barkhan district of Balochistan province. Pakistani military sources reported that the incident took place amid a so-called “clearing” operation against armed militants.
According to Pakistani officials, seven members of a Baloch separatist group were also killed in the same operation. Balochistan, located in southwestern Pakistan, has witnessed ongoing clashes between government forces and armed opposition groups in recent years.
Meanwhile, a Baloch separatist group claimed in a statement that its fighters attacked a Pakistan Army unit in the Chamalang area of Balochistan, killing eight soldiers, including a senior officer.
Pakistani authorities have not yet commented separately on the separatist group’s recent claim. Clashes continue in some parts of Balochistan, a region that has remained a hotspot of insecurity in Pakistan for years.
