Slovenia Donates €200,000 to UNFPA to Support Reproductive Health Services in Afghanistan

The government of Slovenia has allocated €200,000 to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to support the agency’s humanitarian programs in Afghanistan, particularly in the areas of reproductive health and protective services for women and girls.
UNFPA has announced that this funding will help expand access to essential maternal health care and reproductive health services across the country, especially in regions where health facilities are limited and humanitarian needs are high.
According to the agency, Slovenia’s latest contribution will facilitate the provision of lifesaving health and support services for vulnerable women and girls. This assistance is part of UNFPA’s ongoing programs in response to the current humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
This donation comes amid international efforts to maintain basic health services despite severe economic and humanitarian challenges. The extensive restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration on women’s work and social presence have severely hindered their access to health and support services, underscoring the urgent need for targeted international aid.
