Taliban’s Acting Minister of Education Leads Delegation to Russia for Kazan Forum

The spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education announced that Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadim, acting head of the ministry, is leading a 14-member delegation to Tatarstan, Russia, to participate in the 17th edition of the “Russia-Islamic World International Economic Forum: KazanForum.”
According to provided information, the first meeting of the Joint Economic and Trade Commission between Afghanistan and Russia is also scheduled to take place on the sidelines of this event. The commission aims to discuss economic cooperation and the development of trade relations between the two sides.
KazanForum is considered one of Russia’s significant economic gatherings, focusing on cooperation between Russia and Islamic countries. The Taliban administration’s participation in such forums comes despite the fact that it remains unrecognized by many countries and faces political and diplomatic restrictions.
Meanwhile, the Taliban administration has yet to provide clear details regarding the delegation’s specific agenda, potential agreements, or tangible outcomes of such visits—an issue that has consistently raised questions and criticisms about the transparency and concrete results of these foreign meetings.
