Taliban Economic Deputy Announces Review of Several Investment Projects in Kabul and Provinces

The Deputy Economic Minister of the Taliban administration announced that the inter-ministerial investment committee meeting was held on December 5, 2026, in Kabul. Among the issues discussed was the plan to construct a ten-story building for the private Bayezid Roshan Medical University, along with its affiliated teaching hospital.

During the meeting, the importance and necessity of this project were emphasized. Relevant institutions were directed to comprehensively assess the plan from technical, financial, and economic perspectives and submit their reports to the committee within the designated timeframe. However, no details regarding the total cost, funding sources, or the exact start date of the project have been disclosed.

Additionally, several other projects were reviewed during the session, including the construction of a commercial market in Jalalabad city and the establishment of a cafeteria and shops in Sheberghan city. These projects, following initial evaluations, have been assigned to the concerned departments for further study.

The investment committee stressed that the results of these assessments should be submitted back to the committee within the specified deadline. While the Taliban administration speaks of advancing developmental projects, some citizens continuously demand greater transparency in the review, funding, and implementation processes of such plans to ensure that these projects are carried out effectively and benefit the public.
