Qatar Emphasizes Continued Mediation to Prevent New Tensions

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Foreign Minister, during a meeting with Yerlan Kosharbayev, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, stressed the importance of all parties engaging with the ongoing mediation process. He said this cooperation could lay the groundwork for resolving the crisis fundamentally through dialogue and peaceful methods. He also highlighted the significance of reaching a durable agreement to prevent the resurgence of tensions.

The meeting took place in Doha, where the two officials discussed bilateral relations and ways to expand cooperation between Qatar and Kazakhstan. Supporting and developing joint collaborations were key topics in the talks.

The foreign ministers of both countries also reviewed regional developments, particularly the ceasefire between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The discussions focused on diplomatic efforts aimed at tension reduction and strengthening regional security and stability.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister emphasized that the continuation of mediation and the use of political and dialogue-based approaches could provide a valuable opportunity to achieve a sustainable solution—one that prevents the recurrence of crises and contributes to long-term stability in the region.
