Bipartisan Warning Against Political Exploitation of White House Shooting Incident

Following the shooting incident at the White House, both the Republican and Democratic parties have condemned the event and warned against its political exploitation. A correspondent for Al Mayadeen in Washington has reported serious concerns over rising political violence and deepening polarization ahead of the election season.
According to the reporter, the American political atmosphere is already deeply divided, and some fear that this incident could be used as a tool in election competitions. Meanwhile, discussions about the potential implications of this event on the upcoming midterm congressional elections have intensified.
Reactions have also been shared on social media. One American user claimed that the incident could benefit the Republicans in the forthcoming election and even speculated about a “false flag operation,” an allegation that has not been confirmed by official sources.
Meanwhile, The New York Times, citing U.S. officials, reported that the arrested individual is 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen, a resident of California. He was detained following the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The Mayor of Washington announced that an armed man attacked the Secret Service checkpoint in the hotel lobby and was restrained by one of the security personnel. According to the mayor, there is no indication so far of the involvement of other individuals in this incident.
A spokesperson for the Washington police also emphasized that the assailant appears to have acted alone and was not previously known to the city police department. Investigations into the possible motives behind the attack are ongoing.
