Doha Supports Pakistan’s Efforts to Broker Iran-US Ceasefire

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced that Doha is in contact with all parties, including the United States, regarding Islamabad-mediated talks between Tehran and Washington. Majid Al Ansari said on Tuesday that Qatar is closely monitoring the process and consultations to reach a peaceful resolution continue.

According to him, consultations with Pakistan to advance the talks are ongoing, and Doha supports Islamabad’s efforts to establish a ceasefire. He added that the timing of the ceasefire’s expiration should be referred to the negotiating parties.

Al Ansari also warned that the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz could escalate the crisis from a regional to an international level. He emphasized that addressing the situation at this critical maritime passage is a shared responsibility of all countries, not just one specific government.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that Doha is in contact with its international partners to support maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and maintain supply chains. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s key energy transit routes, and any disruption could have extensive economic repercussions.

In another part of his remarks, he stated that Qatar supports stability in Lebanon and fully backs the unity and territorial integrity of the country. Al Ansari also condemned the Zionist regime’s attacks on Lebanon.
