Taliban’s Minister of Industry and Trade Nuruddin Azizi Visits Uzbekistan for Inoprom Exhibition

Nuruddin Azizi, the Taliban administration’s Minister of Industry and Trade, has traveled to Uzbekistan to participate in the international exhibition “Inoprom Central Asia.” This trip comes as the Taliban-led government seeks to expand its economic engagements with regional countries.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on Monday, 31 Hamal, through a statement that the exhibition aims to develop industry, introduce advanced technologies, and strengthen investment cooperation. According to the ministry, a number of government officials, investors, and manufacturers from several regional countries are attending this event.
According to published information, participants from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are taking part in the exhibition. These countries have been among Afghanistan’s major trading partners in recent years.
The Taliban administration also stated that more than 60 Afghan companies from the sectors of cotton, coal, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products are present at the exhibition. However, no further details have been provided yet regarding the potential contracts, volume of investment, or specific achievements of this visit.
Economic experts have previously emphasized that expanding trade relations requires legal stability, transparency, and systematic access to global markets—issues that are still considered significant challenges within the economic environment under the Taliban administration.
