Taliban’s Acting Minister in Antalya Stresses Expanding Trade Relations

Noureddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade for the Taliban administration, participated in the “Trust in Trade” panel on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and the expansion of human and commercial relations among countries.

In the session, he stated that the people of Afghanistan have faced various challenges over nearly five decades and currently, Afghanistan’s assets remain frozen abroad—a situation that, according to him, has adversely affected the country’s economic and commercial conditions.

Azizi described the Taliban administration’s message as one of “peace and peaceful coexistence,” adding that this approach is based on religious values and the will of the Afghan people. This claim comes amid over four years of extensive restrictions imposed by the Taliban on fundamental rights and freedoms, especially those of women, which is widely regarded as a primary factor behind Afghanistan’s ongoing political and economic isolation internationally.

Experts believe that until the Taliban administration revises its domestic policies, particularly concerning human rights and inclusive political participation, efforts to gain global trust and develop sustainable trade relations will continue to face serious challenges.
