Iranian Delegation in Islamabad Emphasizes Asset Release and Lebanon Ceasefire in Talks

A reporter dispatched by Iran’s state broadcaster has reported that American officials have agreed to Iran’s request for the release of its frozen assets; this has also been confirmed by some media outlets close to the US delegation, although official and final details have not yet been disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Iranian delegation headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with the presence of the Foreign Minister, held meetings and talks in Islamabad with Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Speaker of the Parliament. These meetings are taking place as Pakistan plays a mediating role in shaping the framework and potential details of future talks between Tehran and Washington.
According to reports, American officials have expressed agreement in principle to the release of assets but stressed that the final decision depends on further review of details. So far, no official announcement regarding the timing or the mechanism for implementation has been made, and the practical status remains unclear.
Alongside the issue of assets, the Iranian delegation emphasized in their discussions the necessity of achieving a “real and tangible ceasefire” in Lebanon. Iranian officials have indicated that the outcomes of these consultations are expected to determine the direction of potential future negotiations between Iran and the US.
Journalists stationed in Islamabad are still awaiting clarity on the results of these meetings to ascertain whether direct or indirect talks between the two sides will take place.
