ANP leader backs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor’s authority

Aimal Wali Khan, central leader of the Awami National Party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said in a video message after meeting the province’s governor, Faisal Karim Kundi, that the current situation is not a routine matter of power, but one of national survival and life. In the meeting, Aimal Wali Khan said the governor’s authority had taken shape in line with the circumstances and that their prayers were with him, because his responsibility was to safeguard the survival and destiny of the entire nation. His remarks, which in a way indicate support for the governor’s authority, came as he had previously strongly opposed that power. Just a day earlier, he had stressed in a parliamentary session that the governorship in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was illegal and said they did not accept it under any circumstances.
