Lavrov to attend CICA summit in Baku
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, known as CICA, in Baku on Thursday.
The meeting will be held on October 15, 2026, corresponding to 23 Mehr 1405 in the Iranian calendar, hosted by Azerbaijan and supported by the CICA Secretariat. Heads of state and government, representatives of member and observer states, and partner organizations will attend the summit.
According to information published on CICA’s official website, strengthening dialogue, mutual trust and cooperation among Asian countries, advancing peace and security, and supporting sustainable development are among the main themes of the meeting. Azerbaijani media also reported that the future path of CICA and the body’s role in expanding multilateral cooperation in the Eurasian region will be discussed.
