Rosatom to Increase Its Expert Team at Bushehr Nuclear Plant
Russia’s state-owned Rosatom plans to raise the number of its specialists at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant to 150 in the near future, Interfax reported.
Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said 47 company specialists have returned to the Bushehr nuclear power plant so far, and the company plans to increase that number to 150.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, he said: “At present, there are 47 specialists, and our goal is to reach 150.”
According to Mehr, citing Sputnik, Likhachev also said on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant that the “Dneprovskaya” transmission line had been repaired by Russia, but its restart depends on the supply of electricity from the Kyiv-controlled side, and no decision has been made on this issue so far.
He said Rosatom has repeatedly informed the International Atomic Energy Agency about the repair process on the Russian side of the line, and the only remaining step is for it to be energized by the other side.
The Bushehr nuclear power plant is located in southern Iran and is one of the best-known nuclear cooperation projects between Iran and Russia.
