Afghan United Front Says Two Taliban Members Killed in Helmand
The Afghanistan United Front has said that two members of the Taliban administration were killed in a targeted operation in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province.
The front said in a statement posted on its X page on Friday evening, September 11, that the incident took place in Lashkar Gah.
According to the statement, the Afghanistan United Front claimed that the targeted individuals were extorting and oppressing people in the name of religion.
The front also said in another part of its statement: “The Islam created by Hibatullah is not acceptable to the people of Afghanistan.”
The Taliban administration has so far not commented on the claim. In recent weeks, reports have emerged of increased attacks by groups opposed to the Taliban administration in several provinces of the country.
Lashkar Gah is the capital of Helmand province in southern Afghanistan, a province that in recent years was considered one of the main areas of armed conflict.
