Yemen’s Armed Forces Accuse Saudi Arabia of Bombing Al-Hazm Prison
Yemen’s armed forces have accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out an airstrike on the central prison in the city of Al-Hazm in Al-Jawf province.
Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, said in this incident a number of prisoners and visitors, including women and children, were killed.
He said on Monday, September 7, 2026, that a Saudi F-15SA fighter jet took off at 4:30 p.m. from King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia and targeted the prison with two airstrikes.
According to Saree, the aircraft returned to the same base 15 minutes after the attack, at 4:45 p.m. He stressed that Saudi Arabia’s attempt to evade responsibility for the attack would not prevent its consequences.
The city of Al-Hazm is the capital of Al-Jawf province in northern Yemen, a province that in recent years has repeatedly been the scene of clashes and airstrikes.
