UN Refugee Agency Calls for Greater Support for Displaced People

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees has said that forcibly displaced people, despite many difficulties, work every day to improve their lives and need global attention and support.
In a message posted on its X page, the agency said that refugees and asylum seekers, regardless of where they live or their identity, deserve the support and attention of the international community. It said protecting these people’s fundamental rights should be a priority.
The UN refugee agency also stressed that displaced people need sustained support and international attention wherever they are. It did not provide further details about the occasion or context for the message.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees is one of the main international bodies supporting refugees, internally displaced people and others who have been forced to leave their homes and places of residence.
