Taliban minister says opposition to Taliban rule in Afghanistan is unfounded

Noorullah Noori, the acting minister of borders, ethnicities and tribes in the Taliban administration, has described opposition to Taliban rule in Afghanistan as “unfounded” during a meeting with a number of religious scholars and tribal elders from the northern and northeastern provinces.

According to the ministry, Noori also claimed that the people of Afghanistan have made sacrifices for the current ruling authority. He added that there is no disagreement among Afghanistan’s ethnic groups.

The acting minister of borders, ethnicities and tribes in the Taliban administration further claimed that past conflicts in the country were created by “foreign intelligence circles” and “occupiers.” He gave no further details about the claim.

The Taliban administration’s Ministry of Borders, Ethnicities and Tribes published these remarks in a statement. The ministry is one of the Taliban administration’s bodies responsible for dealing with issues related to ethnic groups, tribes and local conflicts.
