Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake Shakes Farkhar District in Afghanistan’s Takhar Province

A 4.4-magnitude earthquake shook Farkhar district in Afghanistan’s Takhar province on Tuesday night, and no reports of casualties or financial damage have been published so far.
The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at 11:51 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 Sunbula, 33 kilometres east-southeast of Farkhar district.
According to the agency, the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 212.6 kilometres below the earth’s surface. At the same time, reports said another earthquake was felt early Wednesday in parts of Afghanistan, including Kabul.
Takhar province is located in northeastern Afghanistan, and some areas in this part of the country occasionally experience tremors.
